Posted 06/06/2017 Lot #1399 - This is the winner of a SEMA 2015 GM Design Award for Best Chevrolet Sports Car. It was also cover car for the July 2016 issue of Vette magazine. It won Builders Choice Award at Goodguys Columbus 2015. Additionally, it competed for Goodguys Street Machine of the Year 2015 and in SEMA Battle of the Builders 2015. All Midyear C-2 Corvettes are diamonds; what makes this one different is that it is perfectly cut. The mission of this build was to retain the car's original design, bring the fit and finish to a standard never achieved during factory production, and update every mechanical component to contemporary standards. This Corvette is built from a no-body damage, all-original car with same owner for over 50 years. It's equipped with a Roadster Shop narrowed Fast Track chassis, including Penske coilovers, splined sway bars and independent rear suspension. It's powered by a GM Performance LT-1 direct-injected engine with 460 max horsepower and 465 max torque, Legend LGT700 5-speed transmission and 9 inch Ford posi-traction. It has Baer 6-piston 13 inch brakes, custom one-off Forge Line center-lock wheels and custom-made 345/30 ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport red-line tires. It has an all-leather interior, including dash and headliner. It features outstanding paint and bodywork. There are no major changes to the body, but everything about it was perfected just a bit. All the body lines were sharpened and lengthened, the bumpers have been moved in and all gaps and panel fits perfected. Nothing on this car is overdone; it's just very well done. This car drives better than it looks. This beautiful Corvette was designed and built by The Roadster Shop of Mundelein, IL, one of the top builders in the U.S.
