Car history:
Bought the car new from a bank president who had arranged to give it to his son for a graduation gift. but didn't register it. The kid didn't graduate, so dad sold it to me at age 20. Less than 2 months later I totaled it showing off at over 110mph hittting 30' of trees. A new frame and front clip was installed and I began drag racing it, breaking a lot of the original parts. I customized it (as was the craze back then) and autocrossed it while still driving it on the street. I won 2 back-to-back Florida NCCC regional championships in 1981-82 in the Groupe III- MA class. It's been featured over the years in quite a few magazines including Vette Vues, Vette Quarterly, Auto-X, Hot Rod twice, Super Chevy, and even several magazines around the world including Finland and Russia, that I know about. I drove the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2006 and did the 'Long Haul' on the 2004 HRPower Tour from Dallas, TX, to Green Bay, Wisconsin, putting 4,800 miles on it in it's blown Pro Street status to prove it was road worthy! It's still street driven to shows and events, (when I can afford the gas bill) and most recently went to Corpus Christi, TX (from Daytona Beach Florida where I live) to be part of the setting of a Guiness Book World Record with 305 Corvettes on the flight deck of the USS Lexington CV-16 for the Wounded Warrior Project. I'm 64 years of age, now & we've been together for 43 years and I'm still 'Car Crazy' about my 1966 Corvette roadster!! Sorry to all of you NCRS people, but it was way too far gone way too many years ago for me to save & restore. It just makes yours worth that much more, so don't hate me for loving all the years of fun I've had driving and racing with my '66 Vette. It's been a blast!
