It is a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible with a 427CI/425HP drivetrain.
427ci/425hp numbers matching (date coded restoration engine) - M-21
4-Speed Manual transmission - 3.55 (AZ code)positive traction rearend.
Awesome Silver on Silver - side exhaust and bolt-on knock-off wheels were added.
This is a beautiful and rare original Silver Exterior with Silver Vinyl interior. Original trim and vin tags.
We found this car parked in a one car garage in Lawrence IN after sitting for approximately 30 years. I have owned the car for approximately 7 years. Look at the original gauges. They have not been touched and show the 6500 redline and 80 psi oil pressure gauge attesting to a real 425 hp Vette. It has been my weekend driver. The car is finished in factory original Silver Pearl (986) paint over the original Silver Vinyl interior trim, which is a rare combination. Only 2,967 Corvettes were painted in Silver Pearl and even less matched with a Silver Vinyl interior. The fit and finish on the paint and interior remains in excellent shape, as does the nice black convertible soft top.
The carpet, door panels, seat covers and foam, along with a new Al Knoch top were installed after being pulled from the long term storage. The engine was completely rebuilt at that time. The TI distributor, Holley carburetor, intake, 858 heads, and 942 block are all casting and dated correctly for this car.
The paint is approximately an 8 out of 10 in my opinion (you be the judge). I have included pictures of the engine stamp. The trim and vin tag are original. This is a fabulous example and a true collector Corvette. You won't find many this nice with this color combination and the 425 HP engine.
The frame and birdcage are extremely solid with only minor surface rust. This car has been stored in my heated garage since I purchased it. This is a turnkey very nice driver! |
