IT IS POWERED BY IT'S #'S MATCHING, ORIGINAL BORN WITH 427 CUBIC INCH 390 HORSEPOWER MOTOR AND #'S MATCHING 4 SPEED MUNCIE TRANSMISSION. IT HAS HAD ONE REPAINT BACK IN THE 1970'S AND FINISHED IN IT'S STUNNING ORIGINAL COLOR COMBINATION OF RALLY RED EXTERIOR WITH A RED INTERIOR, WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOP AND A BLACK STINGER. WE DO HAVE A NEAR PERFECT ORIGINAL TANK STICKER AND IT LISTS ON IT THE FOLLOWING FACTORY OPTIONS: • RED VINYL TRIM • 390 HP V8 TURBOJET • TRANSISTOR IGNITION • 3:55 POSI TRACTION REAR AXLE • 4 SPEED CLOSE RATIO TRANSMISSION • WHITE CONVERTIBLE TOP • AUXILIARY HARD TOP (CURRENTLY NOT WITH CAR) • AM/FM RADIO • TINTED WINDSHIELD • SIDE DUAL EXHAUST WE HAVE OWNERSHIP HISTORY BACK TO THE VERY EARLY 1970'S AND IN 1980 THE CAR WAS PURCHASED BY AN ENGINEER. THIS ENGINEER KEPT EXTENSIVE RECORDS OF THE CAR STARTING WITH THE FOR SALE AD IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER, THE NOTES HE TOOK WHEN TALKING TO THE OWNER, THE BILL OF SALE AND THE CANCELLED CHECK FOR WHEN IT WAS REGISTERED. WE EVEN HAVE THE DETAILED COMPLETE PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION THAT THE ENGINEER DID ON THE CAR WHEN HE WENT TO GO LOOK AT IT FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! THE ENGINEER OWNED, CHERISHED AND DILIGANTLY TOOK CARE OF THE CAR (WELL DOCUMENTED) UNTIL 2008 WHEN HE TRADED THE CAR INTO US ON A 1967 SHELBY GT500. SO AFTER 28 YEARS HE SAID HE WAS READY FOR A CHANGE AND WE WERE HAPPY TO HELP. WHEN I RECEIVED THE CAR AND WENT THROUGH THE PAPERWORK I IMMEDIATLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE CAR AND PARKED IT IN MY PERSONAL GARAGE AT HOME WHERE IT STAYED FOR 2 YEARS AND I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF OWNERSHIP. I FIGURED WHILE THE COLLECTOR CAR MARKET WAS IN SHAMBLES IT WAS A SOLID GRADE INVESTMENT CAR WORTH HOLDING ONTO. ASIDE FROM INSTALLING A NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP I DID NOT HAVE TO DO MUCH AT ALL TO THE CAR AND IT ALWAYS RAN, DROVE AND SOUNDED OUTSTANDING. IN 2010 I PUT THE CAR UP FOR SALE AND QUICKLY SOLD IT TO A GENTLEMAN WHO WANTED TO CROSS OFF HIS BUCKET LIST "TO OWN A RED 1967 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE". HE PURCHASED THE CORVETTE AND SENT IT DIRECTLY TO CORVETTE'S OF DALLAS FOR A CARD BLANCHE SAFETY INSPECTION SINCE HE INTENDED ON DRIVING THE CAR ON WEEKENDS. THE BILL WAS $11,000 AND THE LIST OF WORK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING: • NEW CLOCK INSTALLED • NEW TURN SIGNAL SWITCH INSTALLED • REPLACED REAR MAIN SEAL AND OIL PAN GASKET • WELD SMALL CRACK ON FRONT CROSS MEMBER • REPLACED L/F LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING (OTHER BUSHING PREVIOUSLY REPLACED) • INSTALL NEW FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS • REBUILD REAR TRAILING ARMS AND BUSHINGS • REPLACED REAR WHEEL BEARINGS AND SEALS • REPLACED REAR BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS • REPLACED REAR BRAKE CALIPERS • REBUILD PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY • REPLACED REAR SWAY BAR BUSHINGS • PERFORMED 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT • REPLACED CLUTCH, PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING • REPLACED THE L/S WINDOW REGULATOR NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS CAR HAS IMMPECABLE ROAD MANNERS AND IS MECHANICALLY AS TURN KEY AS THEY GET. IT HAS 71,000 ACTUAL WELL DOCUMENTED MILES SINCE NEW. THE TOP END OF THE MOTOR WAS GONE THROUGH AT 62,000 MILES AND THE BOTTOM END WAS REBUILT AT 64,000 MILES. WE HAVE LOTS OF DETAILED PICTURES AND RECEIPTS OF THE ENTIRE REBUILD. THE CAR WAS REPAINTED ONCE IN THE 1970'S AND ASIDE FROM A FEW SMALL PAINT BLEMS IT SHOWS SURPRISINGLY WELL.
