| Engine details: |
Correct 390hp motor, however the block is from VIN 114077, a car built a few weeks earlier than my car. |
| Other details: |
Updated with sidepipes and repro KO wheels. Original trans missing: trans in the car is from a 66 L79 (VIN XXXXX), and the rear is a 64 3:55 ratio. Car must have seen some 'street action' as it had air shocks and a 'traction bar' during some time in it's life. Correct appearing car with no indication of any accident history and only one repaint (from the early 80's I believe). Completely original interior. Deck panel set up for a hardtop, but do not know if or when the car had one. |

| Car history: |
Purchased in Carlstadt, NJ by my father from Frank Recanatti in 1987. Frank purchased the car from 'Corvette Country' in Alpine, NJ: I believe 'Corvette Country' is still in operation in Southern NJ. Under the passenger seat, I located an old Exxon gas credit card receipt from the late 70's/early 80's: the name on the card was 'Gary J Fisher' and the station was in Elizabeth, NJ. Many letters have been mailed out to all 'Gary Fisher' and 'Gary J Fisher' addresses in the NYC Tri State area, but no one has replied. No other owner history.
UPDATE- Located Gary J Fisher. He purchased the car in August 1977 from a welder at the GM Linden NJ plant. The car was off the road for a few years-painted black, with blue metalflake. The original motor was missing at that time: the car had an expired small block in it when he got it. Gary stripped the body bare and repainted it in his father's garage in 1979. He confirmed the car is a no-hit body (as I have believed all along). He then located the 1966 390hp/427 which is currently in the car, rebuilt it, and installed it. He purchased the sidepipes as NOS items from a Central NJ Chevrolet dealer and installed them a few years after the repaint. |
