Posted 06/30/2017 Lot #1288 - Black-Ray, a very drivable Corvette Resto-Mod. This award winning 1965 Corvette began as a completely original, real, no-hit car. It was built by award winning Carr's Corvettes & Customs in Dallas. The chassis consists of CCC modified and powder coated Street Shop, Inc. frame with all-new, late-model Corvette aluminum suspension, QA1 adjustable coilover shocks, complete Wilwood brake system and DANA 44 rear. The engine is a stock GM Performance Parts 2004 crate LS6 with a CCC hand fabricated Magnuson intercooled supercharger system and hand made carbon fiber coil covers in front of a completely built Phoenix Transmissions 4L65E with a 2,400 stall lock-up torque converter. It is cooled in any heat by a DeWitt's extra capacity aluminum radiator and a CCC fabricated custom intercooler system. The car idles and behaves like a stock LS6 until the boost comes on. The exhaust system uses extrude honed, port matched and ceramic coated factory LS6 exhaust manifolds flowing back through CCC fabricated 3 inch chambered stainless steel side pipes with original style covers. The exhaust note is absolutely perfect. The completely original and gapped exterior is 2010 Cadillac Black Raven with chrome C6 Z06 18 inch wheels and immaculate chrome, stainless and emblems. The glass is new. The interior is custom black leather with ultra suede door panel inserts, trim and headliner that retains the classic of the original C2 design but with quality and amenities of a new luxury car including power windows, custom bucket seats, multiple layers of Dynamat and the original AM/FM radio converted to digital operation controlling a hidden 6 speaker sound system with 10 inch subwoofer, digital sound processor and dual amps. The carpet is custom fitted black cut pile with additional layers of padding and sound deadener. The gauges have been fully restored to the original look but converted to electronic operation.
