Posted 03/17/2020 Its not just that this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette has its ultra-desirable numbers- matching L76 block. As you look into this one, you're also going to see all the other features you want, including, an A/C interior, four-on-the-floor and a factory-correct all-blue color combo. And when you get it all on a coupe that has barely gone 3,000 miles since it has had a comprehensive investment, you know you've found a car that has all the right kinds of distinction. The factory correct Silver Blue makes for an elegant shade worthy of this C2 to stand out. There's a nice metallic element that radiates in the sunshine, and goes nicely with this Sting Ray's mirror-like two-piece bumpers. Ribbed rockers, nice trim, and crisp details make for a well-done classic package. Plus, the addition of competition-style American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with redline tires is a nice period-correct way to upgrade the aggression (especially with how the extra meaty rear ones gives the stance an extra dose of attitude.) The dark blue interior looks nice against the light blue exterior. It gives this classic American the kind of color combo you may expect on a classic European. They have invested in this interior, but has also made sure to retain the stock style. So everything looks correct, right down to the AM/FM radio. Even upgrades are well-integrated, like the air conditioning that's now blowing cold with modern R134a. And like a proper Corvette, this coupe was built to be a true driver's machine. That's why you get a supple leather bucket seats, center console, a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, and clear view of the full gauges. And you just know that bright shifter is calling out for your right hand. Under the hood is a terrific small block. Corvette people look for the L76 motor because it offers the most power without upgrading to fuel injection. So it's great to have the numbers-matching block still in the car today. The engine bay has a clean and well-kept look, and there have been recent investments to keep this a strong running machine, including updating the four-barrel carburetor. These had the same cam and lifters setup as the FI motor, and so you get an excellent lope of a performance machine. On the road, this motor has the right amount of snarl through the newer X-pipe dual exhaust, and the control of the Muncie four-speed manual transmission really lets you experience this to the fullest. Plus, power brakes, power steering, and the fully independent sports suspension give you a confident sports car package. Complete with built receipts and maintenance records, this is the strong-running Sting Ray with the presentation and features you want in a classic of distinction.
