Car history:
I bought the car in Texas in 1966 and have owned it since. It had been raced and was complete but apart. Showed 2500 miles on the odo. I reassembled the car and drove it 108,000 miles. I rarely lost a drag race. In 1969 I sucked a valve in a race and had the local Chevy dealership in Texas replace the left cylinder head and valves. Drove the car until 1983 and spun a couple of rod bearings and cam bearings. I tore down the engine and discovered the new head was different from right head! Also the blocked had been frozen when I was in Texas. The water jackets were bulged out below the cylinders and cracked. (Used a lot of stop leak in those days) Hired a specialist to repair the block and he did a perfect job. At that time I also bought a pair of correct heads and had them ported,cc'd, and matched to the intake manifold. In 1993 pulled the car to pieces and have been slowly doing a frame up restoration. The body is back on a is awaiting interior and trim bits. I have added air, power disc brakes, power steering to make this a great driver. Should be done next year.
Car is nearly done. It now has cruise, air, power, tilt, leather, I-pod jack, grey Haartz cloth top, front discs, composite spring, Engle EP25 cam and lifters, Tremac TKO 500 5 speed trans, and other things.

I don't care about originality anymore. Done that been their with other cars. This old friend is designed as a great long distance cruiser.
