I bought this car in the bay area, Northern California in 2001. Well optioned with power windows, air conditioning, power steering, 4 wheel power disk brakes, tinted glass, power aerial, headrest seats and radio/tape/cd player. Originally owned by dealer principals wife at Burlingame Chevrolet it has all the chick options and originally had a powerglide transmission. The glide was replaced with a Tremec 5 speed manual transmission. 327 is 300 horse and it has an open diff. Mirror conversion done by Corvette Alterations and Conversions in Sydney and it gets driven at least once a week. Footwell extension done at this time to allow six foot two driver. Car was extensively frame on restored in 1996 with two folders of documents, receipts and photos. A lot of original parts to come with car like heat shields, Californian AIR setup etc. Driveline was rebuilt in 1996 and gearbox went in in 2004. Non original parts on car are RHD, gearbox, CD/tape player and Koni shocks. The good - very reliable, solid and sorted mechanicals, drives, handles and stops exceptionally well, interior, wheels and tyres, body lines, gaps, electricals. If you want a concours car - she needs a few things...It looks outstanding at ten feet but the paint would rate 2 out ten due to a lot of scratches. Polishes up beautifully but needs a full respray to look stunning. One of the headlight motors is slow, still works fine but takes longer to operate than its partner and lastly it has a number of oil leaks that need fixing. Nothing needs a rebuild but a full gasket kit in the engine, tranny and diff would earn a few extra points. The carpet needs to be replaced - slightly faded but needs allowance for foot well extension. Air needs to be hooked up. I've loved owning this car and it is a great Corvette but sadly times dictate the need for a back seat... Any inspection welcome. Call Mark.
