Car history:
I purchased this car in Charlotte, N.C. in June 1968. The front bumpers and brackets were missing and it sported 5 spoke Fenton mags. It had a naugahide curtain installed behind the rear deck trim piece that snapped to the rear compartment bulkhead that would separate (hide) the rear compartment from view. It looked factory and I assumed it was. The rest of the car was unaltered. The Army wouldn't let me park it on base without a front bumper so I had a welding shop make me one from a piece of channel iron and a couple of brackets. I wrecked the car in Demopolis Ala. enroute from Ft Wolters TX to Ft. Eustis VA the following year. (Rear ended a pickup.) The insurance co. totaled it but it would have been repairable. My dad tried to buy it back from the insurance co. so he could rebuild it for me while I was in the RVN but they had sold it within a week of the accident. If it is still out there I would like to know.
