Big block 1965 Chevrolet Corvette. This '65 was the first year for a big block
Vette and the only year that a 396 CID V8 was put in a Corvette. The numbers
matching (according to the seller) motor was rated at 425hp/415lb ft. of torque
and you'll never forget that as it is in scripture on top of the signature air cleaner
painted in black. Solid lifters, forged pistons, a free-flow cast iron exhaust
manifold and a Holley 4-bbl carburetor allowed for optimum performance
compared with other Chevy big blocks of the time. To handle the extra 200lbs
of weight that this motor gave the Vette, stiffer front springs and an anti-roll
bar were installed while the stabilizer bar was widened and stiffened. A 4-speed
manual transmission comes with this 1965 Corvette. Painted in Tuxedo Black
with a black leather interior, you'll be blown away by the sound coming from
the side-pipe exhaust- an option for these cars in '65- while the beautiful domed
hood and the Turbo Jet 396 badge on the front fenders lets everyone know you're
driving a legend. This car features hub caps, which are rarely seen on these big
block Corvettes. This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 2,157 big block cars that
were made in 1965.
