Car history:
Car was originally white with a blue stinger, and was a Chevrolet zone car assigned to one of their zone reps. Was delivered through Shoemacher (spelling ???) Chevrolet in Long Island, N.Y. I am probably the 3rd or 4th owner. I bought it from the family of the last owner (a 17 year old kid back then) who committed suicide. When I bought the car, the original 390 HP 427 was long gone, and a worn out 63 passenger 250 HP 327 was in there. I rebuilt it and put in a 350HP/327 cam, Z-28 intake manifold, and a pair of 1.94/1.50 double hump heads. I ran it that way until 1989, and then I came across a blown up original 1967 JE 435HP/427 out of a car built about 7500 units before mine. It still has the original stamping on the pad. I paid $5000 for that engine, and then rebuilt and installed that one. I also installed the transistor ignition to go with the engine. Since then, over the years, I have added leather seat covers, shoulder belts, repro bolt ons, had the radio converted to AM/FM stereo, and installed a fiberglass rear spring. I have owned the car since 1974. I paid $500 for it back then !!!
