Car history:
The current owner of this Blue Beauty pampered her by completing her restoration during the late 1980s. Her "frame-off" restoration was a slow and meticulous process, done in stages over 10+ years.

First, the frame was cleaned, inspected, and painted (there did not appear to be any rust perforation at the time). Her body was completely stripped down, and the paint was removed. She was repainted in a lacquer, with a clear coat applied for minimum maintenance. Her engine was completely rebuilt, and bored .030 over. Her transmission was also completely disassembled and inspected to verify all parts not within tolerance were replaced.

Most every action was done by a professional car-lover, and almost all parts were new GM boxed parts. Her current owner has had her since 1985, and his step son owned her several years before that, and has never been in an accident that they know of.

Note: The current owner provided the following codes. All but the Heads and Bell Housing numbers can be verified in our photos.

· Style = 66 – 467

· Trim = 414

· Body = A2129

· Paint = 976

Casting:

· Engine Block = 6106658 FIII7HT

· Heads = 3782461

· Bell Housing = 3851874

DETAILS OF CAR:

Paint – The paint is all very smooth and professional. It is a high metallic paint, and there seems to be no signs of "running metallic". The current owner states that the car was supposed to go in for a final light buffing, to rub it out, but it was never done, as it looked so good the way it is! The extra buffing is recommended for highest type gloss – but that’s up to the new owner.

Body – All of the panels appear to be very straight and correct. All of the door gaps appear to be very even, and the gap around the cover for the convertible top seems to look as it should. The gaps around the hood appear to be very nice and even, that includes the gaps around the head lights. The condition of those may indicate that the car may not have had any damage to the body during its lifetime.

You may notice some white on the edges of the body, but it is just wax that was never removed.

There is one mark on the headlight and a couple of light nicks on the nose. For the most part, you can’t notice any nicks on the front of the car, but there appear to be a couple by the top that were touched up.

The left side of the car has 2 very slight nicks along the belt line that have been brush touched and barely show. The deck area is free of any damage, except for one little mark. The right side has a couple of nicks on right front fender, one on the door, one on the door edge, and one on the rear quarter. Also, there is an area at to top of left fender that is starting to lightly bubble – but only very slightly (see pictures).

Convertible Top - The convertible top is in very nice condition. It has been down for years and was just put up for these photos, so it still has some wrinkles. It just needs to warm up in the hot sun to smooth them out. The beading on the outside and across the front is all intact without any noticeable wear or deterioration. There do seem to be a few dirty spots, but they’ll probably clean up just fine.

The screwed-on strip (with 2 screws) and the little metal tab are in good condition. There do not appear to be any noticeable holes or tears in top.

Hard Top – The hard top appears to be all intact. It has been in storage for a while, and is fairly dirty, but everything appears to be there, just as it should.

All of the rubber is in tact and is in fairly decent condition. The paint may be original (it appears to be the same color), and it is in fairly decent condition, too.

The rear glass is in pretty nice condition with just some light scratching. It is pretty clear for the age, and there doesn’t seem to be any serious yellowing.

There is some scratching by the left front that may have happened during its time in storage. The headliner looks a little moldy, but it is all here. The new owner may be able to clean or dye it, or might just have to replace.

Chrome – All of the chrome appears to be in very nice condition with just the very slightest amount of wear showing. The door handles have a very light amount of pitting and there is a small amount of pitting on the front bumpers (see photos). There are also a couple of very small scratches on the left side door molding.

There is also a very small amount of light pitting on the frames around the vent windows. The stainless around the windshield is in very nice condition, except for one very light scratch. In general, the chrome shows very little wear, as you can see in the pictures.

Glass – The windshield appears to be in nice condition with just a few pinhead nicks from normal road wear, and one small bulls-eye that has started. The new owner could easily replace it, or get it repaired. The side windows are also in nice condition, with only the slightest amount of light wear from age.

Interior – Overall, the "Bright" or "Medium" Blue interior is in extremely nice condition. When the car was restored, new seats, carpet, and top were installed. All of the instruments show very little wear, and are just a little dusty. Everything appears to be in good, original condition. The carpet is a blackish-blue, with some light fade to it, but it appears to be all in tact. There is also a little mark on the driver’s mat.

The seat backs are in nice condition, and don’t show a tremendous amount of wear. The seats don’t appear to have any tears or damage, and appear to be real leather. The right side seat back does have a little bit of scraping up toward the top.

The door panels are also in extremely nice condition, as is the sun visors. The dash is in nice condition and appears to have only had a small amount of exposure over the years. Overall, the only thing you would want to do to the interior is dust – it looks great.

Tires and Wheels – All 4 rims are "knock-off’s", but they are in nice condition without any curb damage showing. The chrome on the spinners is also in very nice condition. The Goldline tires have plenty of miles left on them – the rear tires have 7/32 tread left, and the fronts have 9/32 left.

Mechanical Condition – (Chad takes the car for a test drive!) –

· Convertible top seems to operate just fine. Did not attempt to install the hard top at all

· Both doors, windows work fine, and locking mechanisms work fine inside and out

· Vents work fine

· Power antenna works and all but very last section goes down

· Headlights work fine (and bright lights) but front parking lamps don’t appear to be working

· Tail lights work fine, brake and back up (couldn’t check – 1 person)

· License plate light works fine

· Engine has a little bit of a lope to it (35 H.P. cam)

· No incorrect engine noise at all (very quiet)

· Shields look like they’re completely in tact

· Parking brake and light works fine (flashes as it should)

· Headlight red lamp works as it should

· Power head lamp doors seem to work fine

· Only about a 1 second difference in closing of the 2 headlights, so they work pretty well

· Front and back turn signals work fine, as well as dash indicators

· Vents work fine and so does reset of trip odometer

· Gas gauge, battery, oil, water, speedometer and tachometer work fine

· Radio works fine – gets AM and FM reception

· Volume and tone indicator work fine

· Heater motor seems to run on all 3 speeds, it gets hot & defrost button works

· Manual vents work

· At 2000 RPM the oil pressure is about 45 pounds when the car is fully warmed up, and temp is around 130 or 140 approx

· Clutch appears to work smoothly and seems to have plenty of clutch left

· Brakes work smoothly, don’t notice any pulsation or pulling to left or right

· Engine accelerates and runs very smoothly, idles at about 550 RPM

· All 4 gears including reverse work well, no grinding, shifts smoothly up and down shift – very short throw on the Hurst shifter

· Car steers well, very tight and smooth. Does not require a lot of effort (not a power steering car)

· Steel belted radial tires would probably further increase the steering response

· Clock is working and it does appear to work as it should – time is correct

· Gas gauge does work – added gas to verify

Car in high gear at 50 mph runs at 2100 RPM, at 60 mph about 2600 RPM
Wipers work well, windshield washers have not been used for years. Does have fluid, but don’t hear pump actuating
Car seems solid and tight, no noticeable rattles, no noises on slightly bumpy areas
Even with the radio and heater off, and the windows up, don’t hear any noises in drive train that appear irregular or incorrect
Not sure what transmission ratio is in car, but RPM drop from about 3000 to about 2300-2400 on gear changes
Idle might be a little slow at 500 RPM. Upon driving at highway speed (60) no noticeable vibration, like out of balance condition, or tire problems
The gas gauge seems to be a little off – per the owner (not 100% accurate)
* Note – Underneath the car, there is a little seepage from the front main, and a little brake fluid inside the tires (which may be due to the front rotors being replaced 2 weeks ago). Overall, it looks thoroughly cleaned; neat and orderly (see pictures).
