Posted 11/20/2019 Palm Beach 2011 Lot #658.2 - This matching numbers early production 427/450hp Rally Red car with red vinyl interior has a white top, side exhausts, Muncie close ratio 4-speed with a 4.11:1 posi-traction rear end and was one of only a few cars to have ever been invited to be displayed at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. This car underwent a full body-off restoration prior to receiving 97.3 points and Regional NCRS Top Flight Award on January 24, 1992 in Cypress Gardens, FL. The car is a reliable driver and still looks amazing having covered less than 6,000 since being restored. Certain minor mechanical modifications were made to suit drivability in South Florida. For instance, a high capacity radiator has been fitted as well as a lower ratio transmission more suited for highway driving. A more modern ignition system provides complete reliability. All the original parts have been retained and are included as a part of this sale. Have some of this car's past history and copies of titles going back to 1972. This beautiful and well cared for car can be driven with pleasure or returned to show quality with a minimum of expense.
