1963 Convertible VIN 07355 with 34,000 miles, hard top only, original 327/300, power steering and windows. I installed a stock Borg Warner 4-speed set-up, a stock AM-FM radio, and a 3.70 posi rear. It also comes with its original Powerglide automatic set-up, Wonderbar AM radio, and 3.36 posi rear. I replaced them because I prefer listening to FM stations and driving a manual transmission.
The red interior and paint are original with some exceptions. I can tell the door panels and carpet are reproductions. A small part of the passenger door and most of the driver's quarter panel were repainted long ago. I don't believe any body panels have ever been replaced, however. The chassis is what you'd expect in a low-mileage western car. It has never had more than light surface rust... anywhere.
The engine is completely stock and runs sweetly. I doubt it's ever been apart other than the carburetor. I had the original AFB rebuilt by Gary Hodges. I also installed an NOS Harrison radiator, an NOS expansion tank, a rebuilt heater core, and new heater hoses. The tires are new Uniroyal radials. Everything works, including the heater, radio, wipers, gauges, clock, and lights.
This car was owned by one family until 2011. They bought it new at Harry Mann Chevrolet in California, and moved it to Arizona in 1970. It then moved to Colorado in 1975 where I found it four years ago. I do have the original owner's manual, warranty booklet, and many past registration slips. It comes with everything I received with it: the jack equipment, spare tire, ignition shielding, and some old replaced parts.
This has never been a show car. The paint has many imperfections. The original interior parts are somewhat faded, but the original dash pads have no cracks. It's just a very nice old Corvette. |
