Car history:
Delivered new to Eugene (Ernie) Kozak by Haskett Chevrolet, St. Thomas, Ontario, $7984.80 list. 4:11 rear. Shortly after, car was crashed into a headstone in a cemetary between St. Thomas and Sparta, Ontario, frame replaced and body repaired by Haskett. Traded by Kozak in 1969 for a new 69 L88 vette at Central Chevrolet in London, Ontario. Bought from Central by Ford assembly plant worker Dale Taylor, who subsequently crashed car at corner of King & York in London about 1 am. Car was damaged and in need of a front end again but after the accident the car was lost until sometime in the late 90s early 00s when it was discovered still as a massive project needing a front end. Car still had its original Trim tag, vin tag, and engine & driveline. I purchased the car from a dealer/flipper in Canada and we started on the journey of doing a complete NCRS Spec Body Off Restoration. We sourced a real GM Black Glass Front end to install on the car, we rebuilt the original engine, trans, tracked down correct dated carbs, and all correct dated components! We got in touch with Ernie and he provided us with a few photos of the car when it was new, and after he wrecked it, and he also provided us with the Original Window Sticker. Fortunately Canadian cars are all documented and can verify all the options without paperwork. But it is a nice added bonus with this car!
