This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible has its numbers-matching V8, four- on-the-floor, and the instant appeal of a true droptop American icon.
The Sting Ray has remained a truly distinguished sports car. After all, they were built with a crisp line that encircled the whole vehicle. And the well-creased look continues on the hood, rear deck, and even the fender flares. This kind of upper-class attitude seems to come out even more on a deep color like Daytona Blue. And the white roof coordinates with the whitewall tires to add even more distinction. Plus, it has all the right looks of a true classic American sports car with the two-piece chrome bumpers, ribbed rockers, and dual exhaust tips poking out of the rear valance. And those aluminum wheels with knock-off hubs have a pure classic racing appeal.
The silver interior is another great feature that we don't see on all C2s. And when combined with the exterior, they are a color combo that gives you a very classy top-down total package. Crisp bucket seats, clean/plush carpeting, and taut door panels make this a nice place to spend some time. The AM/FM radio is even still cranking out the tunes in this very vintage presentation.
Corvettes have always been a great personal sports car. So for the driver, you get all the best features, like the grippy three spoke steering wheel, a full set of gauges with large speedo and tach, and a bright stick shift calling out for your right hand.
Under the hood is a numbers-matching 327 cubic-inch upper-spec L75 motor. The bold orange block, matching valve covers with callouts, and polished air topper give this V8 a great stock look as the vibrant package radiates from the engine bay. The four-barrel carburetor allows the motor to inhale deeply, and it exhales with a sweet sound out of the dual exhaust. It fires up nicely, and the solid feeling out on the road lets you know this has been cared for properly. The four-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the V8's power. Plus, the power steering and the fully independent sports suspension mean this vintage 'Vette is a ton of fun on the road.
Complete with owner's manual and service manual, this is the distinct drop top Corvette that has the correct vintage features. |
