Engine details: |
Converting to LS3 (crate -430 HP). Original engine is lost, but presumed 340 HP L76, due to the # matching transmission being a close ratio, and lacking a FI core support as well as holes in the fenders for FI badges, as well as not having a steering damper, power brakes, or power steering. |
Other details: |
Original numbers matching transmission is in storage; intent is to install a 5 speed OD transmission with the new LS3 430 HP. Modifications have been made to convert this Corvette to 4 wheel disc brakes ('69+ front spindles/78 rear trailing arms. |

Car history: |
-Vehicle last inspected in 1976. -Vehicle purchased by my uncle, Daniel Smith in 1980, for $3000, non driving condition. -Vehicle stripped, sandblasted frame, refinished, and parked outside. -2014: Daniel Smith passed away; possession transferred to me. -2016-2020: Fiberglass body disassembled, evaluated for repair potential; frame stripped. -2020: Vehicle brought to Mid Year Mitch (YouTube) for birdcage and chassis repairs. Documented for YouTube -2021: Original vehicle trim tag misplaced (removed for chemical stripping of the birdcage in 2020. Original vin tag is still original and welded to the Z bar). -2022: Rolling chassis assembled, new fiberglass body assembled utilizing the original floor pan, doors, firewall, and deck lid. New ACI front clip (1965/66 fenders), and ACI rear deck. GM OEM quarter panels and taillights off of a later model Corvette.
