Car history: |
The body on this car has had one recent repaint. Paint is very presentable, driver quality job of dark green metallic. No stress cracks or evidence of repair. All fender lips feel smooth and repair free. Front clip lines up well. Hood lines up straight. Headlight doors line up, one of them (drivers side) sits a 1/4 low on one side, could use adjustment. The doors shut right without sag. They need outer rubber on both doors. Both doors line up at the top, These are things most people would see no reason to take note of in an Ebay ad. I am being very critical noting things of these nature because I am quite familiar with these C2 coupes and understanding of the trained eye of my fellow Corvette C2 enthusiasts. The doors drip rails look to be in good conditon, free of any deterioration left and right. Bumper chrome is in good condition front and rear, strong luster on recent rechrome. Original tail lights show slight pitting on the inside edges. This car is missing the license plate bezel and exhaust bezels. The front grille and marker lights look nice. The glass is all in good condition. Original stainless trim around windshield and rear glass is complete and in very good condition. The aluminum decorative hood plate on the drivers side has one light scratch noticable under some lighting conditions. This Vette sits on original wheels, factory hubcaps and new whitewall radial tires. The headlights have been raising and lowering only occasionally. The owner is in the process of correcting this issue. Also, all emblems are intact and in good condition. It appears the gas door has been replaced at some time because of its very nice appearance.
Interior is complete and in good shape. Seats are supple and tear free. Inside door edges have complete factory welting. Loop carpeting is in good condition throughout the car. The dash is exceptional, free of any cracks or distortion. The horn and lighter work. The original radio works although the speaker has some crackle. The glove box door has a crack along the bottom edge. Trim tag reads as follows, paint code 916A, Trim code 490J. The tachometer is working. The oil and battery gauges are not moving. Wipers do function.
The engine is a non matching 327 complete with factory breather and manifolds. It has been rebuilt with less than 500 miles along with the factory powerglide. Runs and drives very well. The factory ignition shielding is missing in this car. Engine compartment is clean and presentable. Hood inside edge that runs around the inner edge of the fenders and firewall is intact, see no evidence of previous repair.
The undercarriage looks good. Frame is solid, and no cutting or welding, or otherwise repair was found. Floor pans are in good condition. Bushings are older, but all complete. No engine drips were found either. Nice underbody on this Vette! |
