Car history: |
Car was purchased by an LAPD Officer (unknown) from Harry Mann Chevrolet in Los Angeles. It was purchased by the second owner in 1971 out of an Ad in the Los Angeles Times (Ad has been found on Newspapers.com). Asking Price $2,200. The second owner, Ken Witte, had been injured in the Viet Nam War, and thinking about buying a vette is what motivated him to recover from his injuries. The vehicle has original Base stickers from Mr. Witte's subsequent duty at the Army Signal Command. The car was driven as a club car sparsely, and put into storage in 1981. I purchased the vehicle in 2016, and had the engine rotating assembly refreshed. |
