Posted 12/28/2017 1069J..1963 Corvette Z06 Tanker Split Window Coupe, 327-360 hp, (fuelie), 4 speed, numbers matching, also has factory original body/trim tag. Saddle Tan paint with matching Saddle Tan interior. Body-off restored in show condition. Absolute jewelry and immaculate!! These type restorations normally cost between $100,000.00 to $150,000.00. Bloomington Gold and multiple NCRS awards including the NCRS Duntov Mark of Excellence award! Also invited to the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance when owned by Otis Chandler. The expenses involved in obtaining these awards could surely exceed $20,000.00. The Z06 special performance equipment package included power brakes, dual master cylinder, finned brake drums, sintered metallic brakes, air scoops, cooling fans, heavy duty suspension, and in this case, the 36-gallon gas tank of which only 63 were produced. Optioned with power brakes, power windows, leather, T-10 transmission, 4.56 posi, Wonderbar radio, hubcaps, and 6.70x15 blackwall tires. Most all factory correct type components including the spare, jack, jack tools, shocks, seat belts, washer system, tar top battery, shifter, shielding, air cleaner, alternator, distributor, idler pulley, spark plug shields, hoses, hose clamps, hood alignment blocks, F.I. unit, F.I. fuel filter, finned balancer, exhaust heat shields, expansion tank, radiator, gas door assembly, bowtie mirror, glove box door, cookie tin hood, warranty book, owners manual, sales brochure, and T-3 headlights. Documented with owner history, title history, correspondence with the original owner, Helen Matteson, who SCCA raced the car when new. Bloomington Gold and NCRS certificates and judging sheets. Also has the NCRS/GM Shipping Data report with a production date of February 21st, 1963 and delivered new by Robert Chevrolet in Hicksville, NY (dealer code 219 in zone 27) per the official NCRS/GM shipping data records (SDR). Formally owned by L.A. Times owner, Otis Chandler, who was known to collect some of the best Corvettes and muscle cars in the world.
