Being offered for sale by a collector, who is the cars 4th owner, is a very nice
1963 Riverside Red, with Black interior, 327/340hp 4-Speed Roadster. This is a
very original, mechanically sound, high level driver Corvette to be enthusiastically
driven and thoroughly enjoyed. Unmolested / unrestored the car is a Survivor
that looks good-runs great and can be proudly driven anywhere. A turn key
classic, with a great drivetrain option and a patina that classifies as a badge of
honor, is what this 1963 Corvette roadster presents. The cars originality and
condition were recognized and appreciated by the NCRS judges who in October
2009 awarded the car a Top Flight Certificate and Blue Ribbon, with a score of
96.3, which is an excellent score for a 46 year old original / unrestored Survivor
Corvette. This is clearly a classic Corvette roadster for those who appreciate
originality over the shine and fresh appearance of a concours restored Corvette.
A 1963 Corvette roadster with original paint, interior, drive train, body panels,
window glass and chrome is an uncommon find. The car has 181,000 miles on
the odometer. The car runs strong and handles well. A testament to Chevys
L76 327/340hp engine, Muncie M20 4-Speed transmission, 3.70:1 positraction
rear axle and responsible enlightened ownership over its life. The car has not
been restored; but, instead has been properly maintained to preserve its originality.
In 2008 a Master Corvette Restorer / Mechanic rebuilt the chassis to enhance
the drivability of the car, without compromising the cars factory originality. The
original gage cluster and radio have been refurbished professionally. The car
has a new correct Dewitt's radiator, a NOS left muffler, new plugs and wires,
tires and a replacement soft top, which is in excellent condition. This 1963
Corvette is absolutely turn key, needing nothing other then a new home, with
an automobile enthusiast, who desires an original unrestored Corvette and
welcomes the opportunity to take over stewardship of this amazing Survivor.
Rare are the collector cars untouched by time or restorers cars that still wear
their original parts, paint, upholstery and trim. It is their rarity and significance
which make these cars stand out and explains the pride in ownership, which
accompanies these cars. Original cars have the unique ability to transport you
back to the time they were originally built and enjoyed, as they take you
enthusiastically down the road or through a curve. As with any collectible, originality
trumps restored because it is only original once. Here is the opportunity to
acquire a real deal original unmolested 1963 327/340hp 4-Speed Corvette
roadster that stands out as a Survivor, runs great, and needs nothing to be
proudly driven and thoroughly enjoyed.
